Founded in 1833, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide organization of lay Catholics, following Christ’s call to serve the poor, the suffering, and the deprived.
“Our vocation as Vincentians is to follow Christ through service to those in need and to bear witness to His compassionate and liberating love. Members show their commitment through person to person contact, especially through the Home Visit.”
Our Saint Michael Conference was founded in 1973 and serves the poor in 11 zip codes in and around Gainesville including Lula, Clermont, Murrayville, Oakwood and Gillsville.
In pairs, we visit our clients in their homes where they are comfortable and at ease. This also helps us to better assess their needs. In the home visit we offer friendship and prayer as well as financial help.
