HOW YOU CAN HELP!

With as much or as little time as you want to give, even one hour a week, there are MANY ways to assist

The CORE of our ministry is the HOME VISIT, but we also need volunteers for...

FOOD MINISTRY

  • Use the SVDP account to purchase food and toiletries
  • Order from Georgia Mt. Food Bank
  • Pick up the food and bring it to our pantry
  • Organize and stock our pantry shelves
  • Prefill bags for our home visitors to bring to clients
  • Deliver food

LIVING ESENTIALS MINISTRY

  • Assist in sorting donated items
  • Organizing storage of donations

FURNITURE MINISTRY

Become part of the furniture team that:

  • Picks up donated furniture
  • Stores them
  • Delivers to clients, as needed

FREEBIE DAY

Several times a year we offer donated items to our clients: inviting them and their friends to come" shop for free."

  • Make fliers
  • Deliver them to advertise the events
  • The day before the event:
  • Set up tables in the Social hall
  • Bring items from the clothing and household items locker to arrange on the tables
  • The day of the event:
  • Help clients find what they need and assist them in getting items to their vehicles.
  • Clean up after the event

Call 770-534-0234 and leave a message or e-mail us.

Please consider joining us as a Vincentian volunteer with The Society of Saint Vincent DePaul here at Saint Michael.

CLERICAL WORK

There are several opportunities to help in serving our clients. Some of the work can be done from home and includes:

  • Data Entry of Case Records
  • Research and/or write Grants
  • Research for client eligibility
  • Research into Property Records for Landlord Information

PUBLICITY & PUBLIC RELATIONS

  • Opportunities exist to write articles about our activities for our parish bulletin, the local newspaper and the Atlanta Archdiocesan Bulletin
  • Opportunities exist to engage with other organizations in the community that do similar work. We work closely with many groups in Hall County such as United Way, Salvation Army, First Baptist Church, Gateway Domestic Violence Center and more. We support them and receive support from them by having member(s) attend community meetings and events.
